WEBSITE DESIGN

Getting Specific UX Input to Guide Development of New Website

Challenge:

Steve Brown Apartments’ website, which had been launched almost a decade prior, was not providing an experience that was on par with today's consumer expectations. To address this, they wanted to redesign their website to provide a user experience that was wortwhile to their consumers and allowed a point of significant differentiation from competitors.

Per the recommendation of a user experience (UX) specialist, they decided to involve current apartment renters in the redesign process to ensure their solution addressed the actual needs of their users.

Solution:

To rework their website with the intention of driving traffic, increase apartment showings and differentiate themselves from their competitors by providing a unique experience, Steve Brown Apartments needed to understand:

  • What is it like to be a local apartment renter? What challenges do they face?

  • What tools/information help users make a decision to pursue a property?

  • Is there enough of these tools/information on their current website for users to make a decision?

  • How to present/communicate this information online to make it fast and easy to process.

Steve Brown Apartments needed a solution that allowed them to present new design concepts to users, receive real-time feedback for their design team and iterate to hone in on the optimal solution. With their busy season quickly approaching, they needed insights fast. So, they turned to a Website Optimization Sprint.
